Who is on surveillance video?

Who is on surveillance video?
GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- We've all seen this boy's picture numerous times within the past nine and a half months and now police are trying to figure out if this boy seen in surveillance video taken from Colonie Center is Jaliek Rainwalker. Police, however, aren't convinced it's him.

"Looking at it myself I'd say no. The overall appearance of him. Yes, it's been nine months and yes, I've never seen Jaliek personally but I've seen photographs and the features aren't there," said Greenwich Police Chief George Bell.

Jaliek's grandmother, who has been pounding the pavement looking for her grandson, also doesn't believe it's him.

"Barbara Reeley has seen the tape and she does not believe it either," said Bell.

But Jaliek's adoptive parents say through their attorney they aren't sure one way or another it's Jaliek.

"Well, our clients believe Jaliek is alive and they have been frankly begging the police department to engage in their services and investigate as though Jaliek is a live person," said attorney Tucker Stanclift.

Police say they haven't ruled out anything in the Jaliek case, but that his father Stephen Kerr, the last person to be seen with him, is still the only person of interest in the case.

"And I'm not surprised that Chief Bell is so convinced that this is not Jaliek, because it fits into his theory, which is of course, that Jaliek is not alive," Stanclift said.

When asked why Kerr and McDonald aren't actively looking for Jaliek, especially now that this surveillance video has surfaced, Stanclift says they're leaving it in the hands of the police.

"They're relying on the police to make that determination," Stanclift said.

For now, both police and the attorneys are asking anyone with information about the person in this video to contact them.
