Balloons around the world event

Balloons around the world event
COLONIE, N.Y. – It’s now been 11 months since Jaliek Rainwalker disappeared and while there have been no real leads in the case, the Find Jaliek Task Force is not giving up hope. They benefited from the balloons around the world event at Colonie Center, where dozens of balloon sculptors were doing their magic and handing out free twisted balloons.

The organizers of the event knew Jaliek's foster parents and also knew Jaliek and that is why some of the money raised from the fundraiser will go toward the group trying to find him.

"I knew him as a sweet child. You could just look at his picture. His face glowed and that was the way he was with both of us. He was just the dearest boy and I don't know what this will do, but he has been missing for almost a year and that is too long for questions to go unanswered," said Barbara Bird.

The other organization benefiting from the event is Clowns on Rounds, Inc. They go to hospitals in the Capital Region to cheer up patients. This is the ninth year of the worldwide event which is happening in 81 locations in the U.S. and in 11 countries.
