TROY, N.Y. -- The Chasing the Cure for Multiple Sclerosis race stepped off Sunday morning from the Emma Willard School in Troy.

The 5K race was coordinated by one of the school's community service groups which sponsors and supports races, games and other activities to raise funds.

Alumni, faculty, administrators, and parents hit the pavement with the same goal in mind.

Jackie Tremont of Averill Park said, "Well, I'm here today because it's a local run for one thing and also because it's for MS, and I have a niece that has MS so, good cause."

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Upstate New York Chapter of the National MS Society.
