Thousands of bees swarm Mechanicville
MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. -- Mechanicville was abuzz Friday as thousands of bees swarmed several locations in the city.

One local business owner who was stung told us about the sight.

End Zone restaurant owner Larry Grayson said, "I'm walking by and all of a sudden I see a bunch of bugs, I thought it was just gnats or a bunch of bugs being the summertime, and I come around the corner, I walk through them. Come to find out they were yellow jackets. Not just one, but I'm talking thousands of them. So I got stung a little bit in the eye here, no big deal. And I called the city garage, they called someone else to come over."

The bees later moved to a plaza on Central Avenue between Mabbett Street and Park Avenue, where police said several people were stung.

Police arrived with an animal control officer who sprayed them, leaving hundreds of dead bees on the ground.
