Snow emergencies in effect
Albany
Albany police have issued a snow emergency. It is in effect beginning at 8 p.m. tonight. All cars should be parked on the even side of the street for the first 24 hours. And then Thursday night at 8 p.m. all cars should be moved to the odd side of the street. After the second 24-hour period, please stay tuned for further announcements. While strict parking rules are in effect downtown, the city is making a number of additional parking lots available for you. You can park at the lots adjoining the Arbor Hill Softball Field. If you live in Pine Hills, Woodlawn and Ridgefield Parks are available. If you live in the West End, Bleeker Stadium is open for you. Interior roadways of Lincoln and Washington Park are also being used for parking. For SNOW EMERGENCY information, call 476-SNOW or log into the city of Albany’s website at www.albanyny.gov. In addition, the City of Albany has suspended collection of recyclables for Thursday. Recyclables will be picked up next week. Trash will be collected and should be put out as usual.
Schenectady
A state of emergency is in effect for the City of Schenectady from Wednesday, Feb. 24 though Saturday, Feb. 27. No unnecessary travel on the roadways. The Schenectady Fire Department is also advising residents and property owners to clear the snow from fire hydrants in front of their houses and businesses.
Saratoga Springs
Snow emergency has been declared beginning at 12 a.m. Wednesday. Except for streets posted for alternate-side parking, there is no parking or standing of a vehicle for more than 12 hours. Except for streets posted for alternate-side parking, vehicles parked on city streets must be moved to a plowed or cleared area every 12 hours. All vehicles in violation of the snow emergency parking regulations are subject to being ticketed or towed at the owner's expense.
Brunswick
Snow emergency in effect Tuesday 2/23 @ 8PM until Saturday 2/27 @ 10AM. No parking on public streets
Waterford
A snow emergency is in effect in the Village of Waterford from 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 until all streets are plowed and pushed back. Any vehicles not moved or interfering with snow plowing operations on village streets or the village parking lot will be towed at owners expense. Alternate side parking is not in effect in the Village of Waterford.
Cairo
Snow emergency effective immediately. No parking on main roads.
Catskill
Snow emergency in effect 8PM Tuesday 2/23. Alternate parking strictly enforced.
Athens
Snow emergency in effect Tuesday 2/23 until Saturday 2/27. Snow emergency parking rules will be in effect.
Mechanicville
Snow emergency declared starting 8 a.m. 2/24/10 ODD/EVEN parking in effect.
North Greenbush
The Town of North Greenbush as declared a snow emergency. No vehicles shall be left on town roadways until further notice.
Dalton (MA)
Snow emergency effective Wed 2/24 @ 9AM until Sat 2/27 @ 6AM. No vehicles allowed to parked on the side of any roads. All unnecessary travel is to be avoided.
Nassau
Snow emergency effective Wed 2/24 8:45AM until further notice. Vehicles prohibited from parking on any public street.
Corinth
State of emergency effective Wed 2/24 @ 8AM until Fri 2/26 @ 6PM. No unnecessary parking on village streets.
