ALBANY, N.Y. -- Good news if you had planned on going to a state park this weekend. the padlocks should be off the gates soon.

After a late night and some intense debate at the Capitol, the state Assembly has passed a bill to reopen 55 state parks and historic sites. The vote was 86-to-47.

The $11 million in funding needed to keep the parks open is offset by money from the Environmental Protection Fund, which would be reduced by about $80 million.

Also, $4 million in new fees will be added to help support the EPF. This also paves the way for Governor Paterson's e-waste program, which involves eliminating hazardous electronics from landfills by 2015.

The Senate is expected to vote on the bill sometime today.
