ALBANY, N.Y. -- Contestants for Miss New York get their hands dirty for Habitat for Humanity. Ten of the 20 contestants, along with the reigning Miss New York worked on a house on Odell Street in Albany.
Habitat for Humanity is renovating the house for new owners. The other ten hopefuls worked at Habitat's warehouse. It's all part of Pageant Week in Albany, as the young women vie for the title of Miss New York 2010.
In an interesting twist to this year's competition, three sisters from Fulton County are competing. They told us going up against each other just adds to the excitement.
Courtney Sheridan said, "No matter who were to place or win, if it's one of the three of us, then we all win."
The Miss New York 2010 Pageant will take place at UAlbany's Performing Arts Center. The preliminary pageant is Friday night.
