LATHAM, N.Y. -- Some of the area's top chefs are battling it out for a good cause.
It's the third annual Zesty Chili Challenge. Twenty restaurants will put their best creative chili recipes forward to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association and the Kidney Foundation.
Organizers say the rainy weather actually brought more people out for some warm chili.
"Chilly people love chili. It's a great time of the year for it. I think anytime you can come out and have a low key like this that doesn't require you know black tie affair and you can still support community organizations. I think it's very popular," said Carl LaFleur, National Kidney Foundation Executive Director.
Chili cookers were battling over title of Best Overall Chili, Most Creative Chili and several other categories. And our own meteorologist, Heather Morrison, was one of the esteemed judges.
