ALBANY, N.Y. -- The 20-year-old man convicted of killing UAlbany student Richard Bailey was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Devon Callicutt was found guilty last month of first-degree murder for shooting the 22-year-old in the head during a robbery attempt on South Lake Avenue in October 2008.
King Modest and Ricardo Caldwell were also arrested in the case. They pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery charges and testified against Callicutt during the trial.
During Callicutt's sentencing, Bailey's father read his victim's impact statement saying, "It was like we were shot, too."
