CAPIRAL REGION, N.Y. -- One hundred students from both public and private schools across the Capital Region are competing to see who is top dog when it comes to spelling.

The regional spelling bee took place Wednesday evening at Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady. The winner and his or her chaperone will receive an all expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Spelling Bee, along with many other prizes.

The spelling bee will be aired on Time Warner Cable Channel 3 this Saturday at 9 a.m. It will also be on YNN on Demand, channel 1007.
