Mayor Jennings comments on Miller arrest, Albany riot
A lot has happened over the past few weeks in Albany, and Mayor Jerry Jennings, who's been on vacation, is finally back to comment on it all. YNN's Sabina Kuriakose has reaction from the mayor on the arrest of Albany Police Department Spokesman James Miller and the kegs and eggs riot.

ALBANY, N.Y. - He's back. Mayor Jerry Jennings returns to Albany after almost two weeks vacation and steps right into a firestorm.
"I am pleading with you, please can we do something about the kegs and eggs," said a caller to the mayor's weekly radio show on Talk 1300 Friday morning.
Jennings fielded questions on the now-infamous St. Patrick's Parade Day melee that so far has seen more than 40 college kids facing charges.
"We're going to look at landlords, we're going to look at the universities and colleges and how we can better communicate with them and make sure there's a consistent message, like I said. There are some laws that should be reviewed," the mayor told YNN.
Jennings addressed a more recent topic as well - the DWI arrest of Albany Police Department Spokesman Detective James Miller, who happens to be a good friend of his.
"I was upset," Jennings said. "Jimmy has been a good member of the department and he's done a lot of things with the...other scholarships and police and fire foundation. It upset me, but we're going to let that take its course. I'm not going to comment any further, and basically we'll see how it unfolds."
The mayor's comments come a day after Albany Police Chief Steven Krokoff spoke out about Miller's arrest.
"I think the bigger question is the alcohol involvement in law enforcement," Krokoff said. "It's obviously become an issue; it's been an issue in our department. I think it's more coming toward the forefront now because of what's becoming an intolerance among the rank and file for that kind of conduct amongst the rank and file."
The mayor said that it is unfair to judge an entire department on the actions of a few officers. And while he said he'll let that incident continue to play out through the criminal and internal investigations, he's taking immediate actions to prevent another kegs and eggs spectacle.
