An emotional Michael Mosley takes the stand in his own defense. The Wynantskill man is charged with murdering Samuel Holley, 27, and his girlfriend, Arica Schneider, 18, in their Troy apartment in 2002. TROY, N.Y. -- An emotional Michael Mosley took the stand in his own defense Thursday. The Wynantskill man is accused of stabbing and killing Samuel Holley and his girlfriend, Arica Schneider, back in 2002.

Mosley says he did not kill the couple and found the bodies when he went to pick up Holley, his friend and fellow drug dealer. He told jurors that the door was open when he got there and went inside after seeing the victims on the floor. He says he left his handprint on the wall after leaning down to check on the bodies.

Mosley says he also found a ringing phone in the bedroom, which is why his blood was found on the mattress. He says he didn't call police because he did not want to get involved.

"He has no need to fabricate here. The truth is on his side. And the truth shall set him free, if I can use a cliché," defense attorney Terence Kindlon said.

Mosley says he bought crack from Samuel Holley and even sold drugs himself in the past.
