SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. -- Two people are killed and one injured after a crash in Schaghticoke. It happened on Route 40 near Stewart's Friday night.

The road was closed, with troopers investigating and reconstructing the scene.

New York State Police say Philip Dobert, 51, of Schaghticoke lost control of his car and hit a utility pole. Dobert was airlifted to Albany Medical Center. We don't know the extent of his injuries.

His two 20-year-old passengers, Kyle Dobert and his girlfriend, Alisha Schoonmaker, were pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police say alcohol and excessive speed were factors in the crash.
