Two drivers arrested after driving around road barriers

ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Albany County Sheriff's Office is reminding drivers to obey road closure signs around the area.

The sheriff's office said two people have been arrested in separate incidents for going around barriers. Michael Jones, 22, of Voorheesville was arrested for DWI, failure to obey a traffic device, endangering the welfare of a minor, and unlawful possession of marijuana. Adam Mineau, 22, of Coeymans Hollow was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and failure to obey a traffic control device.

Acting Sheriff Craig Apple said road closure signs have been put up for safety and that the roads are closed because certain areas have been deemed unsafe.

By ignoring road barriers, driver are not only putting themselves at risk, but also emergency response personnel.
