Schenectady police warning of phone scam

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- The Schenectady Police Department is alerting the public about a current phone scam.

Police say the suspects are calling residents and identifying themselves as being members of the Publishers Clearing House. They then tell the victims they won more than $100,000 and must pay a onetime fee in the amount of $320 in order to collect the funds.

Anyone who has received a call or paid funds is asked to contact the Schenectady Police Department at 382-5200.
