SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- The family of slain teen Eddie Stanley held a basketball tournament in his honor.

The 15-year-old was shot to death at a house party in Schenectady back in June.

Stanley's love for basketball is now being used to help local teens. All proceeds from the basketball tournament will go toward a college scholarship in the former Schenectady High School standout's name.

One close friend says coming to the court is a way of remembering Stanley.

"Show how much we loved him, appreciated him and miss him. Try to get everyone together to play ball and do what he loved to do," said Jallah Tarver.

In July, James Wells of New York City was arrested in connection with the shooting. He faces second degree murder charges.
