We received this video from a viewer who is also a meteorologist -- it was shot along Interstate 90 near the Mohawk rest stop

Amsterdam's Town Supervisor says there are several miles worth of damage - downed trees, power lines, even roofs completely torn off. We spoke to some residents, who are beside themselves.

"At first, it was just a normal thunderstorm...trees started going down everywhere," said Cody Brooker, who lives in Cranesville.

"Ss a matter of fact, the trees that were just cleared from the railroad tracks because of the flooding...too much to take," said Vicky Brooker, a Cranesville resident.

Officials say no one was hurt, but people will likely be without power. At the peak of the storm that caused the tornado, 30,000 Montgomery County residents lost power.

Montgomery County is among the counties eligible for federal disaster assistance after Irene.
