RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a cat and her kittens are found trapped in a dumpster in Rensselaer County.
It happened in the Village of Nassau near 3 Malden Street. Troopers found the mother cat and her three kittens in a box that was duct taped together to prevent them from getting out.
Troopers also said the mother cat was shot in the back with what appears to be a pellet and is now paralyzed. The animals were taken to the drum veterinary center in Schodack.
Police want anyone who recognizes the cat or has any information to call them at (518) 732-4644.
