ALBANY, N.Y. -- First the husband, and now the daughter of Albany County legislator Wanda Willingham has been arrested for defrauding Social Services.
The complaint alleges that Fay Willingham, 31, of Albany did not report her time off to the Albany County Department of Social Services, which subsequently would continue to pay her father, Elijah Willingham, to babysit her four children.
According to the Albany County Sheriff's Office, Fay Willingham received more than $2,000 from the scheme. She is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree welfare fraud, and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
Elijah Willingham was arrested this week on charges that he submitted day care attendance sheets claiming he provided service over a two-year period when he was actually working for Amtrak.
