COLONIE, N.Y. -- Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan is holding a news conference to demand a retraction of what she's calling misleading and false information regarding the town landfill.
The comments were made by her opponent in the race for town supervisor, Denise Sheehan, and Albany County comptroller Michael Conners, regarding the value of the landfill. Mahan is expected to show documentation to support her demands for retraction.
The Colonie Town Board voted to privatize the landfill back in July. A California based company now runs the landfill, but the town still owns it. They gave the town $23 million up front for agreeing to the plan.
