SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Police have released more information about a missing Saratoga woman.
Cynthia Gavitt is the wife of a State Trooper. She hasn't been seen or heard from since Friday morning. Police found her car on Saturday in a parking lot in Halfmoon. Since then, they have been searching the area for any leads.
Cynthia Gavitt is married to Administrative Captain William Gavitt, who is stationed out of Troop G. Police say Cynthia has been suffering from severe physical health problems, medical problems, for the last year, and that has been on her mind. Police have conducted aerial and ground searches and divers are searching river with a side scan sonar.
Members of the State Police say both Cynthia and Captain William Gavitt are well loved and respected by friends and family.
"Our people have doubled their efforts. Capital Gavitt is widely respected. Our investigation has confirmed what many of us already know, that Cynthia Gavitt is well loved by her family and liked and respected by all her friends and acquaintances," said New York State Police Major William Sprague.
Crews will resume their search Wednesday morning.
