SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A Brooklyn man has been indicted for the murder of a popular Schenectady High School athlete.

James Wells, 31, is facing second degree murder charges for the death of Eddie Stanley, 15, back on June 13th. It happened at a house party on Bridge Street, where police say Wells shot Stanley five times.

The indictment indicates that Wells accused Stanley and a few of his friends of stealing keys shortly before the early-morning shooting. Wells, who was brought by authorities to Schenectady upon his arrest in July, also faces other charges, including weapons possession, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
