911 tapes, video surveillance released in Gold's Gym incident
COLONIE, N.Y. -- The 911 tapes and video surveillance have been released from an incident at Gold's Gym, where an out-of-control gym member went into a rage and later died.
Police said on the morning of Oct. 31, Chad Brothers, 32, became violent at the Latham gym, knocking over equipment and even hitting another gym patron in the face. Several officers and gym members attempted to subdue the 240-pound man, who was eventually stunned with a Taser. Brothers later died at the hospital.
Toxicology results found a mix of PCP and steroids in Brothers’ system at the time of his death.
The cause of death was determined to be "agitated delirium," a condition in which the body goes into an extreme state of duress. Drugs like steroids and PCP are known contributors to this condition.
