WATERFORD, N.Y. -- Police in Waterford are looking for the person who drove and crashed a white SUV that struck a utility pole around 6:30 a.m. Thursday on Middletown Road.

Officers say the pole was sheared in half, and witnesses say the driver left the scene headed north on Middletown Road.

Police say the SUV should have extensive front end damage. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
