SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The fourth person to accuse Bernie Fine of molestation has admitted that he made up the allegations against the former Syracuse University assistant basketball coach.

Floyd VanHooser lived with Fine for part of his childhood and is currently serving a life sentence at the Clinton Correctional Facility as a repeat felon.

In a letter to the Syracuse Post Standard, VanHooser said that he made up the claim to get back at Fine because Fine did not hire a lawyer to help VanHooser fight a criminal conviction.

Fine was fired after the first two accusers, Bobby Davis and Michael Lang, came forward back in November.

The statute of limitations has expired in both cases and Fine has not been charged in connection with any of the allegations.
