AMSTERDAM, N.Y. -- Police have arrested an Amsterdam man they say is responsible for a string of robberies.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department says an extensive investigation helped connect Ryan Braender, 29, to three different robberies in the past two weeks.

Authorities say Braender robbed a bank in Niskayuna on January 19th. They say he also is accused of two robberies in the Town of Amsterdam, including stealing a display board full of jewelry from Segel's Jewelers on January 17th.

It took the work of several different police departments to find Braender, who was hiding out on Winston Place in the City of Schenectady.

Braender has been charged with robbery and grand larceny and was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
