WASHINGTON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two people were seriously hurt when an SUV crashed into a pickup truck pulling a trailer. It happened just south of the Village of Cambridge around 7 p.m. Sunday.
Washington County sheriff's deputies said an SUV was heading south on Route 22 when it struck the pickup truck head-on. Both the male driver and female passenger of the SUV were injured. The driver was taken to Bennington Hospital, while the passenger was taken to Albany Medical Center by helicopter with more serious injuries.
"The reconstruction team will be shooting the different debris in the roadway and try to come up with a reason for the collision, speeds, etc. At this point it's way too early in the investigation to even speculate what happened," said Lt. Jeffrey Tucker of the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
The male driver of the pickup truck was not hurt. Deputies have yet to release any information about the two passengers from the SUV.
