Three arrested for stealing after car chase

ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two Albany men and a Ballston Spa woman have been arrested after police say they stole from the Clifton Country Mall and then lead police on a chase on the Northway from Clifton Park to Colonie.

Police say the incident began when store officials from Boscov's in Clifton Park reported stolen merchandise and the license plate of the vehicle the suspects left in.

According to police, the car had been reported stolen in Albany and was later spotted on the Northway. Police say the driver refused to pull over and a chase began, ending with the car crashing into a guard rail on Route 2 in Colonie.

The driver, Freddie McRae, 45, was arrested for criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest. He also has outstanding bench warrants from the Town of Colonie and the New York State Division of Parole.

The passengers, Keith Brough, 31, and Kimberly Peters, 41, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

All three were arraigned and taken to the Albany County Jail without bail.
