ALBANY, N.Y. – It was an emotional day in court as jurors found an Albany teen guilty of manslaughter for his role in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Tyler Rhodes.

Dhoruba Shuaib, 19, was convicted Friday afternoon in the April stabbing at Hoffman Park.

Shuaib was acquitted on more serious charges of second degree murder.

During the trial, prosecutors said Shuaib blocked Rhodes' movements before his alleged killer, Jah-Lah Vanderhorst, plunged a large knife into the boy’s heart.

Vanderhorst goes to trial in March on second degree murder charges.

Shauib faces 25 years in prison.
