OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Schenectady man has been charged with several counts of animal cruelty.

According to police, Frank Popolizio, 65, owns the Southside Stables and Southside Dogs in the Town of Worcester, which is in Otsego County. They say Popolizio faces 49 counts of cruelty to animals.

Police seized dogs from the business last month due to poor health.

The business’ website says they are approved by the American Kennel Club and licensed by the New York State Department of Agriculture.
