GREENWICH, N.Y. -- State Police make an arrest in an animal abandonment case.
Friday we brought you the story of a dog found on the side of a road in Argyle, with its front and rear legs bound with duct tape, as well as his mouth. He was about 10 to 12 years old.
Police said he was taken to a local veterinarian and treated for his injuries. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the dog was suffering from an unrelated illness and had to be euthanized.
After receiving numerous tips from area residents police determined that Shane Morehouse, 53, of Fort Edward was the dog's owner.
A man from Hudson Falls reportedly gave Morehouse the dog named "Chubby" because he couldn't care for him anymore.
Police said Morehouse was charged with Cruelty to Animals and Animal Abandonment, and was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
He will reappear in court February 14th.
