Man sentenced for possessing child pornography
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. -- A Queensbury man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison after officials say he received and possessed thousands of child pornography images.
Jay Mayer, 74, was arrested last April after a computer and drives used to obtain child pornography were seized at his home.
Officials say Mayer pleaded guilty in September 2011 to receiving child pornography and possessing child pornography.
On top of his prison sentence, he will be on supervised release for ten years.
Mayer was also ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors and he must register as a sex offender in New York State.
