ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- Officials have released the name of the person who died in an accident in Albany County. It happened in the town of Knox on Wednesday morning.

The Albany County Sheriff's office said Matthew Arnold, 21, of Schoharie was driving a truck when it crashed on Route 146 Wednesday morning.

Authorities said last Monday, the owner of the truck let a friend borrow it. The truck was parked in that person’s driveway in Schenectady on Tuesday. That night, Arnold was offered a place to stay at the house. One of the residents said they woke up around 2:30 a.m. to find the truck gone.

Arnold is seen on surveillance video driving the truck around Schenectady buying gas and beer. By 3:55 a.m., the accident was reported to emergency officials.

Authorities are still investigating the cause.
