ALBANY, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old has been sentenced to 21 years in state prison for his role in the death of an Albany High School student last year.

Dhoruba Shuaib of Albany was convicted earlier this month of first-degree manslaughter, but was acquitted of a second-degree murder charge for the death of Tyler Rhodes.

The 17-year-old was fatally stabbed at Hoffman Park in Albany on April 30, 2011. According to the district attorney's office, Shuaib prevented Rhodes from getting away while he was stabbed.

Jah-Lah Vanderhorst, 17, is accused of stabbing Rhodes and faces trial on June 11.
