SCOTIA, N.Y. -- A summer hot spot in the Capital Region is getting ready to re-open for the season with a brand new look. Jumpin' Jacks Drive-Thru in Scotia had to re-do the interior after severe flooding from Tropical Storm Irene.
The flooding damaged windows, wall insulation and just about all of the equipment. Jumpin' Jacks is now past the storm with new ice cream machines, freezers, wallpaper and a fresh coat of paint.
Owner Mark Lansing said he has had flood insurance for 30 years, and this was the second claim he's ever filed.
"The water was probably shoulder height where you're standing, The whole park was part of the river. That's never happened since I've been here," said Lansing.
Opening Day is set for Thursday, March 29th. Jumpin' Jacks has been serving the Capital District for more than 60 years.
