SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The defamation lawsuit against Syracuse University Men's Basketball head coach Jim Boeheim and the university has been dismissed.

In the ruling, State Supreme Court Judge Brian DeJospeh wrote that the content, tone and purpose of Boeheim's statements to several media outlets, including the New York times, ESPN and the Post Standard, following sexual abuse allegation against Bernie Fine would state to a reasonable reader that he was giving an opinion rather than factual statements.
