More than 2000 undergrads received their degrees from UAlbany this weekend. Television's "Judge Judy" delivered the keynote speech during Sunday's ceremony. And as our Beth Croughan tells us, she has a history with the SUNY campus.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- "It trained, at least laid certainly the building blocks for the education of my three boys," said Judge Judith Sheindlin.

The caps, gowns, purple and gold seen at the University at Albany's 168th Commencement, are all familiar to her. UAlbany is where her three sons earned their bachelor's degrees in the eighties. And Sunday, television's "Judge Judy" returned to speak to this year's graduates, the Class of 2012.

"I'm thrilled, we actually made it, it's pretty impressive," said graduate Ryan Bunts of his excitement to graduate. "Super excited," said Stephanie Czachor, when she was asked.

During her speech Sunday, Sheindlin relayed a message about first impressions. It's something she said her sons have mastered.

"Two of them are lawyers, one of them is a doctor," she said.

And something that got her, her start in the field she pursued after her longtime legal career. "You took a ten minute meeting, and the first impression is all you've got. One guy got it and the rest is my TV history," she told the crowd. A story shared to help the more than 2000 grads as they prepare to chart their course in history.

"Life can be a wonderful journey, and you can be its hero. It all starts with a first impression. I wish you all hearty congratulations and lives abundant with great first impressions," she said.
