UNITED STATES -- Laurie Fine has officially filed her lawsuit against ESPN. The wife of former Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine filed the libel suit Monday in U.S. District Court in Syracuse.

This comes less than a week after Laurie Fine held a news conference in Geneva to announce her plans.

Fine claims ESPN and two of its employees ruined her life by reporting that she knew her husband was molesting children. Two men, Bobby Davis and Mike Lang, have accused Bernie Fine of molesting them decades ago.

Bernie Fine has denied the allegations and has not been charged.

Laurie Fine claims ESPN aired a "doctored" version of a taped phone conversation with herself and Bobby Davis and in the suit, she accuses ESPN of trying to boost its ratings in the wake of the Penn State sex abuse scandal.

The network, which released a full version of the tape last week, says the suit is without merit and it stands by its reporting.
