UNITED STATES -- Sunday marks the start of National Hurricane Preparedness Week.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration are teaming up to make sure people are ready in the face of disaster.
The week is designed to increase awareness and preparation in order to reduce the impact of hurricane disasters. The two agencies are working to teach the risks and what actions to take in the event of a hurricane, even helping people map out disaster plans.
