ALBANY, N.Y. -- Jury selection begins today in the trial of the teenager accused of stabbing Tyler Rhodes, 17, to death. Initial jury selection was postponed last month.
Police said Jah Lah Vanderhorst stabbed Rhodes in the chest back on April 30th of last year during a fight in Hoffman Park. He faces 25 years to life if convicted.
In February, a jury convicted Dhoruba Shuaib of first-degree manslaughter in connection to Rhodes' death. Prosecutors say he restrained Rhodes while he was being stabbed. Shuaib was sentenced last month to 21 years in state prison.
