JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. -- The driver involved in a crash in Johnstown that killed one teen and seriously injured another has pleaded guilty to charges.

The Fulton County District Attorney's Office said Justin VanNostrand, 20, of Gloversville pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and first-degree reckless endangerment.

The crash happened at the intersection of State Route 29 and Steele Avenue Extension in the Town of Johnstown back in December.

The sheriff's office said VanNostrand was speeding and driving recklessly when his Mustang crashed into an embankment, hit a parked pickup truck, then landed on top of a house.

Passenger Christopher Insogna, 19, of Caroga Lake, died in the accident. His sister, Kelsey Insogna, 17, suffered serious injuries.

VanNostrand faces two and a third to seven years in prison when he is sentenced on July 13. If the case had gone to trial, he could have faced up to 15 years in prison.
