NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- Congresswoman Nan Hayworth kicks off her campaign for re-election. Supporters and local elected officials came out to rally with Hayworth as she discusses her ongoing efforts to create jobs and help the economy recover.
She is running for reelected for the 18th district in New York. Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro rallied alongside Hayworth, and said he is supporting her campaign because the country needs people like Hayworth to step up.
"She has consistently, over her term, reached out across party lines to make a difference in our community and in this district. And is totally committed to revitalizing our economy, revitalize our communities and help people, whether they be unemployed, underemployed, struggling business owners, farmers, families, seniors or veterans really seek and achieve opportunity and make a difference in their own lives," said Molinaro.
Democratic Congressional Candidate Richard Becker, Duane Jackson, Matthew Alexander, Sean Patrick Maloney and Thomas Wilson are also in the running for the 18th district.
The primary vote will be held on June 26.
