PENNSYLVANIA -- A Saugerties man is dead after he allegedly tried to break into a home in Pennsylvania and was shot by police.

Pennsylvania State Police said Adam Schillinger, 27, tried breaking into the home near the Maryland state border early Saturday morning. When officers arrived, he was found sitting in a pickup truck.

Police said Schillinger displayed a handgun toward officers and was then shot.

Autopsy results are expected by the end of the week.
