CAPITAL REGION -- Dozens of students from several Capital Region Taekwondo schools are on their way to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to compete for top honors at the AAU National Taekwondo competition.

Some of the athletes representing are from Pil Sung, Mechelle’s Way, Peak Performance and Northeast Taekwondo. These students have trained all year long in forms and sparring. They all had to earn a spot in the national competition by qualify at one of several meets across the northeast.

They will be among almost 1,800 athletes competing for top honors next week in Florida.
