Sullivan County Deputy fired after two DWIs
SULLIVAN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Sullivan County Sheriff's deputy has been fired after two DWI convictions in Port Jervis.
Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty says that Corporal Tim Murray, 44, was fired on June 22 after a civil service hearing. According to Chaboty, Murray had been suspended since the first DWI charge in April of 2010. Murray was convicted on that charge in March of 2011 and was sentenced to three years probation.
Murray also served 30 days in the Orange County Jail for an August 2010 DWI and is currently facing a third DWI charge in Pennsylvania.
Chaboty says Murray had been with the department since 1992.
