TROY, N.Y. -- We now know the name of the woman who saved a baby from a burning apartment in Troy.
The fire broke out Sunday in Griswold Heights.
Troy police say the resident of apartment six, Shontal Gaymon, 29, got home around 3 a.m. and discovered the fire. Police say Gaymon forced her way in through the back door, found the baby in a playpen and got out.
Officials say the one-year-old was treated for minor burns.
Gaymon was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of second and third degree burns.
Police say the baby had been left alone by a caretaker, who was next door when the fire broke out.
The Red Cross is now helping the four people who lived in the apartment.
