Police say mother left children alone in park
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Police arrested an Albany mother they say left her two small children alone at a local park and only wearing diapers.
Police say on Monday evening, they were called Riverside Park on Main Street in Albany for a report of children running around unattended.
Police say when they arrived, Jessica Hawkins, 22, of Whitehall, was with the two-year-old and four-year-old.
Hawkins has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in court at a later date.
Police say the incident was reported to Child Protective Services.
