GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- There is a new addition to Glens Falls Hospital, the Harry M. "Mac" DePan Surgical Care Unit. The unit is named in memory of DePan, a longtime local surgeon who died in 2010.

Sunday, the hospital is holding an open house of the new unit. There will be tours, children's activities, and educational presentations.

"We're thrilled to open the new unit, to be able to provide our patients and families with private rooms with state of the art equipment. Our nursing staff is extremely excited to have a new work environment that really is conducive to the best patient care," said Donna Kirker, Chief Nurse and Vice President of Patient Services.

The open house will run from noon until 3:00 p.m.
