ALBANY, N.Y. -- Sunday marked the final day for the popular Albany Aqua Ducks tours. Earlier this month, the company announced it was selling its vehicles, and they were moving to another city.
The Aqua Ducks has been in operation in Albany since 2004 offering historic tours of Albany. The 90 minute tours included a ride through its historic districts and also a splashdown for a view of the city's skyline from the Hudson River. People said they're sad to see them go, including one of their employees, who's been with the organization from the beginning.
"One of the greatest things was that people would say to you after the tour, 'You know I've lived in Albany all my life' or 'I've been here for 30 or 40 years and I never knew that this building existed' or 'I never knew that fact'. It was just a great feeling being able to share the wonderful history of Albany with visitors from literally all over the world," said Peter Keyoskey, Aqua Ducks Tour Guide.
During the nine seasons in operation, about 175,000 people took a tour with the aqua ducks.
