TROY, N.Y. -- The prosecution rests in the re-trial of former Troy City Councilman Michael LoPorto.

LoPorto is accused of forging ballots in the 2009 Working Families primary.

He was originally tried with Rensselaer County Democratic Elections Commissioner Ed McDonough. After six weeks of testimony, the jury was unable to reach a verdict, and the judge declared a mistrial.

LoPorto's attorney is expected to call several witnesses beginning Tuesday.
